I'm not really into resolutions, but I think that's what everyone says. I am, however, into reasons to start new goals and do more things. I disguised these 'resolutions' as "something to do every year."
My somethings went like this:
2015: Start an Instagram Account and post daily. That's what evolved into LabelMeLeslieNames.
2016: Write every day. I did it. I wrote every single day in 2016. I missed none. It was originally a goal of writing more creative stuff, outside of writing for school. But it turned into a journal. A document of my daily happenings, with a little creative writing here or there. I love that it's become that. 2016 was a crazy year, and I know I'm going to appreciate that I documented it.
That's why 2017 will continue to have daily writing.
I ended up taking an unplanned Instagram hiatus at Christmas break for 2016, due to sickness and a very weird sense of overwhelming of media. But, I'm ready to return at least my more personal account. I'm still debating what happens with my names account. I love that community, but it ended up being more stress on me than fun it was to post. My hiatus may continue.
So, my goals for 2017:
Be Responsible for My Own Happiness
it's a quote and an idea I need to keep close to my heart. I heard it last year, worked to implement it, and it needs to live on.
Writing
Every day. And writing more. Documenting more. Writing down more complete thoughts.
Take More Pictures
I take a lot already, but I want more. I want more pictures of me with my friends, family, and the places I love.
Blog and Etsy
I really want to dedicate myself to it. I have a lot to say, and I want the outlet. I want to build something that is completely mine. I already have my Etsy shop (LabelMeLeslie) and I need to spend some more time creating just for that. I don't have a specific schedule. I will easily get discouraged if life gets in the way of meeting the small steps. But more. More in general.
And that's where I leave it. For someone who doesn't like resolutions, I seem to have many.
Cheers to 2017!
It's my year. 17 is my favorite number. I'm graduating. And I'm taking it by storm. It's out in the world. Let it happen.
